Here are some of our youngest members after the Lead Line class at the Silver Jubilee!

Hey everyone! I am so excited to start another year with all of you. Last year was so much fun and I am very proud of how hard everyone worked to make our youth club a fun and united one! This year we will continue our mission to get the youth more involved and excited about showing miniature horses.

Last summer some of you all might have noticed that I was usually really busy with my own horses and brothers and sisters at the shows, but I am happy to say that this year I am cutting down! I think I will probably stick more to the driving and performance classes because I like them the most and it will give me more time to relax and spend with all of you! Plus I am getting married this year and will need all the extra time I can get at home!

For all of you who were not at the meeting in October, we elected some new officers who will be helping me throughout the year!               I am so excited to have their help!

Here is what is going on for the rest of the year!  January meeting: Everyone needs to bring pictures of themselves and their horses to the youth scrapbook! We will hand out farm sponsor flyers so that farms with in the club can pay $15 to sponsor a page in the Scrapbook! We will send home scrap book pages with the parents of the children who do not attend the meeting so that they can have time to work on their pages before the January meeting!

February Meeting: we will have a bake sale to raise money for our youth clinic prizes and our horse Olympics at the Jambalaya! HOWEVER… also bring salty snacks or gift baskets so that everyone can have something that they like! At the meeting we will come up with awards to be given out at the mini clinic and we will discuss activities that we would like to do at the clinic. We will also continue to work on the scrapbook

March Meeting: EVERYONE ATTENDING THE CLINIC MUST HAVE THEIR FORMS IN BY THIS DATE NO EXCEPTIONS THIS YEAR!!!!!!!!!!! Because EVERYONE will have their forms and MONEY in by this date the youth and I can sort all the youth into teams and decide which horses we will need at the clinic. We will continue to work on the scrapbook!

Youth Clinic: The clinic will be on April 17-19 at my family’s farm in Lexington, KY! This year the clinic is closed only to those who have become members of MAMHC BEFORE the start of the clinic and those who intend to show horses in the upcoming show season. Here we will finish the All About Me portion of the scrapbook and make flyers for the Silver Jubilee horse wash and other activities! We will have several classes to learn more about the horse and as always, HAVE A GREAT TIME!

Silver Jubilee: May 31-June 1 We will have a horse was on Friday Night but everyone should be prepared to help wash horses throughout the weekend! We may have a coloring contest and perhaps slip and slide races!

Jambalya: June 28-29 we will have a horse and youth Olympics during the lunch break on Saturday with championships during the lunch break on Sunday!

August Show: Just like last year we will have a pizza and ice cream party during the lunch break on Saturday! Other suggestions for activities would be great! However I don’t think we should have another scavenger hunt this year it was really hard to control!
